Curriculum
A unique college preparatory
education
The college preparatory curriculum at Rancho Solano is uniquely
suited to the talents, interests and needs of our students. There
are several features in particular, which distinguish Rancho Solano
from other college preparatory programs.
All Rancho Solano students enroll in a four-year humanities
sequence that integrates several disciplines including history,
literature, religion, philosophy, politics, art and music history,
drama and film, and economics.
While all Rancho Solano students take at least three years (most
will take four) of mathematics, science, and a second language,
each student also enrolls in one of four honor houses within the
school, which allows for greater specialization in certain areas of
interest.
- Mathematics, Science & Technology
- Markets, Entrepreneurs & Globalization
- Comparative Languages & Literature
- Studio & Performing Arts
In the near future, a fifth honors school will be added for those
students interested in international diploma recognition.
By participating in exchanges, semesters abroad, summer travel,
internships, apprenticeships, and making use of the latest
video-conference technology and equipment, Rancho Solano students
have extraordinary opportunities to network with other Meritas
students and faculty from around the world.
